I work in a pretty big hotel and was tasked with finding out the best solution for port security on our IP phones. Currently some employees use the port on the back of the phone to gain internet access (limited wall ports in certain areas).

I've been trying to do my research but its quite a daunting task. We use Aruba switching. Vlans. Any other info that I can provide I will do so.

What type of port security should we implement if we dont want someone to come in and plug their phone into the back of the phone and gain access to our corperate network? We do want to be able to have our employees use the phone port though.

  • Unfortunately, your question is too broad. We would need a lot more details about the network topology and network devices. You can refer to the Network Engineering Question Checklist for guidance, then edit your question. – Ron Maupin Apr 16 at 16:32
