I'm using a program that polls the port vlans from the switches by snmpv2 (Snmp walk is used) but im having trouble polling the port vlans from hp switches. Does anyone know any reason that prevents the software from polling this info via snmp? Any config on the switch that is stopping snmp walk on hp switches?

  • What is the SNMP configuration on those switches? – Ron Maupin Aug 12 at 22:52
  • Snmp-server community public manager restricted there is no other snmp related config. Ip is not an authorised manager on the switch. Btw i can poll info port by port but the software walks the mib. – user19215 Aug 13 at 7:41
  • And the software is polling info every minute. I wonder if theres something blocking this. – user19215 Aug 13 at 8:30
  • I've had a similar issue in the past and the reason was that the switch vendor did not implement the snmp OIDs that i needed. – Mheni Aug 14 at 20:12
