I'm having a very weird issue with a switch. It doesn't want to associate to my NTP servers.

My config is very simple:

ntp server ntp1.domain.com
ntp server ntp2.domain.com
ntp server ntp3.domain.com

Above that I have the nameservers set.

Ping works to all servers using DNS name. There are no FWs between the switch and the DNS/NTP servers. I tried adding the ntp source directive as ntp source vlan <MGMT VLAN ID>. It didn't help.

show ntp associations is completely blank

show ntp status gives the normal Stratum 16 unsynced response.

Then I just got mad and added the line ntp server time.domain.com ibrust to the config, and voilà, it starting working. time.domain.com in my environment is a simple round robin of all ntp-servers, so it just returns them sequentially every time somebody requests it.

show ntp associations after this change shows the single entry for the IP address of ntp1.domain.com, even though show ntp config shows the following:

ntp server time.domain.com
ntp server ntp1.domain.com
ntp server ntp2.domain.com
ntp server ntp3.domain.com

Funnily enough it seems as if the iburst directive doesn't make it into the config for some reason.

So, my question is, what is it that I'm not getting here? Is this perhaps a firmware bug? I'm running FW 15.2(4)EA5 at the moment.
