For questions about network Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting. These are methods which comprise a security framework for access control on the network, services, and/or devices.
AAA is a framework for of three network security functions:
Authentication: Method used for identifying users prior to granting users access through Authorization to the network, services, and/or devices.
Authorization: Method used to grant access to the network, services, and/or devices, including various access levels of these, for the users identified by the Authentication method.
Accounting: Method used for collecting information for the previous Authentication and Accounting methods so that the data may be used for things like reporting and auditing. These data may include things such as the user identity, which networks, services, and or devices were used, when the services were used and for how long, etc.
