Sep 19, 2013 at 16:02 comment added Jason Mann With the ASA X sieries, they are now able to do inspection at layer 7, granted you have to purchase a module to the inspection.

Sep 7, 2013 at 1:12 comment added Mike Pennington @CraigConstantine, definitely on topic, but even on topic questions can be too subjective. Thus, I am more focused on how subjective the comparison is... if you ask for an open ended to comparison of two vendors equipment, one vendor may feel shortchanged and post a rebuttal... then, the other vendor rep points out how the rebuttal is full of fluff... then a 3rd vendor chimes in that their product should be considered... Hopefully we can avoid all this...
Sep 7, 2013 at 1:05 comment added coxley Maybe after I play around with Juniper more, I'll be able to gain a solid opinion on it then. I have edited the question as requested.

Removed question about CLI
Sep 6, 2013 at 14:20 comment added one.time The CLI of the Palo Alto is fully featured and is similar to that of a Juniper's CLI hierarchy.
Sep 6, 2013 at 13:46 comment added Craig Constantine "model/product line features/differences" are specifically on topic... I think this should be re-opened. Thoughts?
Sep 6, 2013 at 9:21 comment added Pavel Glushkov As far as I know, Palo Alto devices (just like Check Point they originated from) should be configured via GUI (Panorama). CLI is used for basic ip-address assignment and hardcore troubleshooting, but not for security configuration.

Sep 6, 2013 at 2:24 comment added Mike Pennington The part about the CLI being strange is too subjective... let's remove that part. I am undecided about the comparison with ASA. We can reopen after you edit the question.
