Apr 25, 2023 at 14:01 comment added Tonny @bobuhito You can't keep your ip-address a true secret. It is a PUBLIC ip-address after all. What you can do is not to publish it anywhere and for most users there is no reason to do that anyway. Even when being careful with it you will still get unsolicited traffic. All sorts of parties (like ransomeware and virus makers, also some governments) scan the whole internet continuously for vulnerable devices. Not a large amount of traffic directed at your specific ip-address, but it will account for a small percentage of your data quota.
