I have a single static public IPv4 address from my ISP.
So I understand that i can just forward all traffic using port forwarding to one of my private IPs, but still I am wondering if this is the right way to go about it, especially because i am planning on getting a few more ipv4 addresses.
I could then use NAT, but I dont really have any need to have multiple hosts sharing a single public IP.
So my questions are the following:
Can i assign the public IP to one of my hosts directly, instead of the router i mean? The router gets its IP via dhcp, but i have the option to set that to static, what then should i put as the WAN address of the router? or is that the wrong way to go about it
If i have multiple public IPs do I need to use NAT? If not roughly what kinds of network configuration do i have to do in my router (static routes, access rules etc?)
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I am using the Cisco RV160W
